If like me, you couldn’t think of anything worse than rolling in at 5am Christmas morning and then trailing your hungover head all over your Christmas dinner then do what I do, crack open the baileys, pop Elf on your TV and have a pre-Christmas day pamper night!
Here are my Christmas eve must haves (Baileys and new pyjamas are optional)
Cleanse, tone and face mask
Your skin will probably be feeling a little dry and out of sorts with all the excess alcohol and chocolate treats we all consume at this time of year so start your new year resolutions early and treat your skin. Cleanse and tone with your usual products – I love the Garnier Naturals range and then before you moisturise, pop on one of their moisture bomb super hydration tissue masks, trust me your skin will feel and look divine afterwards.
Fake don’t bake
Remember that heatwave we had? Me neither…Can’t remember what you looked like when you had a tan? I hear you! So, exfoliate those dead skin cells, shave those legs and add some colour back into your skin. My favourite is the St Moritz tanning mousse which you can get from most places for under £6. The tan goes on evenly with a rich and long-lasting tan.
Give yourself hair envy
I can sometimes be neglectful of my hair. I concentrate so much on looking after my skin I forget that with the constant use of styling products and the heating on full blast this time of year my hair can become dry and lack that shine we all aim for over the festive period. How often do you use a treatment on your hair? For me, hardly ever. So, I will be treating my curls to the fabulous TRESemme Restructuring deep conditioning treatment, which promises to leave your hair silky soft, shiny and tangle free. What more could your locks wish for this Christmas?
Top to toe
If you haven’t had your feet out for months your toes may be feeling a little forgotten about. Bring them back to life with your very own pedicure. Trim your nails, cut them cuticles, slather on a thick layer of moisturiser (a good body butter is ideal – coconut body shop body butter is my favourite) and most importantly paint those toes! I will be painting mine in Essie number 52 ‘Thigh High’ topped with a touch of glitter.
Do all of that and you will wake up refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to tackle all Christmas has to offer.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas Day.
